Obituary

Republic- William Lloyd Tobler, age 92 of 175 Cedar St. Republic, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home while under the loving care of family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

William was born May 6, 1919 in Shell Lake, WI to Lloyd & Verna (Mason) Tobler. Bill served his country in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Tennessee during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Bill was last employed as a manager of a medical clinic in Lapeer, Michigan.

Bill has been a resident of Republic since 2007 and he winter in Tucson, AZ. He was a member of the Grand Rapids, MN VFW Post 1720 and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching baseball games.

Bill is survived by his wife Marge Tobler, whom he married November 1, 1997, 9 children: Albert (Sally) Lake, Ruth Lake, Richard Tobler, Rose (Bill) Hall, Genise Coulter, Jim Hall of Republic, Lynn (Jim) Huling, Brian Hall of Marquette and Cari Bohto of Crystal Falls, a brother Evan Tobler of Alaska along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son Toney Lake and a daughter Dorothy Mendez.

There will be no services. Inurnment will take place in the Republic Twp Cemetery.
