Obituary

Ishpeming= William G. "Bill" Pepin, age 81, life long area resident, passed away peacefully on Monday November 9, 2020 while in the loving care of his family, and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Bill was born on February 22, 1939, son of the late Napoleon and Alice (Hoid) Pepin. He was drafted into the United States Army in May of 1962 serving in the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Bill worked at the Marquette County Road Commission retiring as a foreman in 1995. Bill was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Negaunee, Negaunee VFW, and the Ishpeming AMVETS. He loved going to church, taking his dog for side by side rides, hunting, fishing, snowmobile riding, being in the woods, and meticulously maintaining his yard from all the pine needles and cones.

Bill is survived by his wife Karen (Salmer) Pepin, 2 children- William Pepin Jr., Jeffery (Tricia) Pepin, step-son- John (Kim) Demarest, brother- Gordon Pepin Sr., brother-in-law- Neil Chapman, 2 grandchildren- Curtis and Benjamin, 3 step grandchildren- Edward (Tiffany), Courtney (Daniel), Stephanie, 4 great grandchildren- Colten, Caleb, Adam, Erik, and his longtime furry companion- Nikki. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife- Sandra (Kaeseman) Pepin, siblings- Ted (Betty) Pepin, Richeld (Rita) Pepin, Janet (Stanley) Franson, Joan Chapman, and his best friend- Bruce Perry.

Bill's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Negaunee on Friday November 13, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon with Fr. Larry Van Damme celebrating. Burial and Military Honors will follow the Mass at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee.

Pallbearers will be Bill's nephews and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to UPAWS in memory of Bill.
