Michigamme- William "Bill" E. Moore, age 71, of 215 Main St Michigamme passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.

William was born May 25, 1940 in Marquette to Charles E. & Charlotte A. (Dissinger) Moore. He graduated from Michigamme High School, class of 1958. Bill served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 being honorably discharged in 1962.

Bill worked as a truck driver for Kimberly Clark and the Ropes Gold Mine prior to working 20 years at Cleveland Cliffs. After retired from the Tilden Mine in 2000 Bill enjoyed spending his winters in Florida with the love of his life Karen. He was a former member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Michigamme and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion. Bill was a member of the American Legion and the Ishpeming ELKS Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and was a sports enthusiast and particularly a Green Bay Packer fan.

Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife Karen (Krummi) Moore, whom he married June 18, 1966, 2 sons William S. (Kim) Moore of Hartford, WI and Dean (Kathy) Moore of Fond du lac, WI, 2 grandchildren: Christopher and Derek, a brother: Donald W. (Jane Adams) Moore of Michigamme along with many cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 4:00PM on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 2:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.

The Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 380 will conduct Military Honors at the conclusion of the Mass.
