ISHPEMING, MI – William Dorne “Bill” Koski, age 68, of Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.
Bill was born on May 19, 1958, in Ishpeming, Michigan, to William and Barbara (McWilliams) Koski. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1977 and went on to attend Northern Michigan University for two years.
Bill dedicated 26 years of his working career to Russi-Vivian Oil Co., where he worked as a store manager before retiring in 2019. Outside of work, he enjoyed traveling to Mexico and exploring the underwater world through scuba diving. However, his true passion was riding his Harley-Davidson. There was something special about being out on the open road, and his love for his motorcycle was a big part of who he was. Whether traveling to new places or enjoying a ride, Bill appreciated the freedom and adventure that came with it. Bill also enjoyed gathering with friends over a good meal, especially at his favorite spot, Congress Pizza.
Above all, Bill leaves behind a family who will cherish his memory and the moments they shared. He is survived by his children, Barbie (Kurt) Kaleva, Amy (Jason) Arseneau; his sister, Joanne Garceau-Sager; his seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Tori, Aydin, Jayce, Abel, Josie, and Amelia; great-grandson, Alden; and a special thanks to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Jaykka, for their kindness, support, and care.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Barbara Koski; his wife, Linda (Makela) Koski; and his son, Scott LeClair.
An open house celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Wednesday October 28, 2026, taking place from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.
Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery at a later date.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at MCMCF for the friendship, kindness, and compassionate care they provided to Bill.
Bill will be remembered for the life he lived, the adventures he enjoyed, and the memories he leaves with those who loved him. May he rest in peace, with the open road stretching endlessly ahead.
