William E.
Anderson
September 24, 1957 – January 13, 2024
Ishpeming- William E. "Willie" Anderson, age 66, longtime area resident, passed away on Saturday January 13, 2024 at the Frodtert Hospital in Milwaukee, surrounded by his loving family, and hospital staff.
William was born on September 24, 1957, son of the late William Everet Anderson, and Patricia Ellen (Stein) Anderson. He grew up in the L'Anse area and graduated from L'Anse High School with the class of 1975. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy serving from August of 1975 until his honorable discharge in August of 1978. William returned to the UP, living briefly in Marquette, before settling in Ishpeming. He married his wife of 43 years Yvonne Goulet on February 22, 1980.
William was a man of high character, he found much enjoyment out of making others happy, always putting others needs before his own. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, listening to live music, going on adventures with his family, being in the woods, spending time with his family and grandkids, playing in the Negaunee Cribbage League with the Negaunee Elks team where he has been a member for many years, and was a loyal mighty Lions fan.
William is survived by his wife- Yvonne (Goulet) Anderson, daughter- Kelsey (Timothy) Anderson, mother- Patricia Anderson, siblings- JoEllen (Robert) Lahti, Jeff (Diane) Anderson, Janelle (Mark) Beeler, sister-in-law- Jill Anderson, 4 grandchildren- Sophia, Harrison, Hazel, Walter, nieces and nephews- Thomas, Jeremy, Mary Pat, Bobby, Christa, Drew, Lauren, Alex, David, Aaron, Jenny, Ryan, Liz, Stephanie, Laura, Lisa, Luke, and Holly. He was preceded in death by his father- William Everet Anderson, brother- Michael Anderson, and son- Todd Anderson.
William's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Friday January 19, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. An Elks service will be held at 12:00 noon followed by Military Honors accorded by the United States Navy. Following the services a luncheon will be held at the Ishpeming Township Hall.
