Ishpeming- Wilhart Arne Aho, age 97, of 1575 N. Westwood Circle Ishpeming passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility where he has resided for the past 3 years.

Wilhart was born in Humboldt Twp., Michigan at home on August 8, 1923, a son of the late August and Maria (Kantola) Aho, the youngest of 10 children.  He graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1941.

Wilhart worked for Elson's Bottling, Mary Charlotte Mine, Robbins Flooring and retired from the Tilden Mine in 1991.  His most rewarding job upon retirement was helping with his grandchildren.

Wilhart was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed helping his children out with projects and was always first in line to lend a hand.  He enjoyed sports, watching his grandchildren participate in their activities and followed the Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers.  Wilhart spent 67 years as a loving husband to Lillian (Maki) before she passed away in 2016.

Wilhart is survived by 3 children: Patricia (David) Rodda, Jeffrey (Mary) Aho and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Adriano, 5 grandchildren: Aaron (Amanda) Adriano, Joshua Adriano, Jacob Adriano, Alex Adriano, and Jordyn Adriano, 3 great grandchildren: Hayden, Charlotte, and Everett, sister-in-law Concetta Maki, brother-in-law Wilho Ritola and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian, brothers: Waino, Arthur, Onnie (Mayme), George (Ruth), and Arnold (Cecelia), and sisters: Ina (Arthur) Harvala, Laila (Henry) Lawer, Lempi (Mike) Pietro, and Joann (Earl) Roberts.

Private family services will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.  Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wilhart's grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to Bethel Lutheran Church 333 E. Ridge St. Ishpeming, MI 49849 in memory of Wilhart.

Wilhart's family would like to thank the staffs at Brookridge Heights and Marquette County Medical Care facility for the excellent care.
