Ishpeming, MI - Wayne Henry Kaminen, age 80, of 1875 Southwood Dr. Ishpeming, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at UP Health System Marquette.

Wayne was born in Negaunee, MI on September 13, 1942, a son of the late Allie (Maki) Anderson and Waino Kaminen. He was a graduate of the National Mine High School, Class of 1961. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Upper Peninsula Power Co. for 30 years retiring as a Utility Man. Wayne loved Archery and was a member of the Tomahawk Bowman Archery Club.  He was an avid deer hunter.  Wayne was a member of the AmVets.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years - Barbara  Kaminen of Ishpeming, three sons, Kevin Kaminen of Ishpeming, Cory (Carolyn) Kaminen of Mackinac Island, and Michael Kaminen of Ishpeming, two grandchildren, Marianna and Jack Kaminen.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Bethel Lutheran Church.  Funeral Services will follow at 12:00pm on Tuesday with the Rev. Steve Weston to officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
