Ishpeming – Virginia F. Jennings, age 85 of 857 Juniper St. Ishpeming passed away on Friday June 1, 2007 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming where she had been a patient the past five days.

Virginia was born April 27, 1922 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Angelo and Lydia (Fredin) Moretti. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1942. She went on to work briefly at the H.W. Gossard Co. prior to her marriage to Wesley M. Jennings who preceded her in death in 1996. Virginia was a lifelong Ishpeming resident. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women, where she was an active participant. Virginia was a former member of the Wawonowin Country Club, the Ishpeming Elks Lodge and the Bell Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons – Alan (Susan) Jennings of Negaunee and Jeffrey (Michelle) Jennings of New Market, MD, 5 grandsons, Jeff (Pam) Jennings, currently serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq, Ryan, Justin, Jordan & Arick Jennings; 4 great grandchildren – Jalen, & Kobe Jennings, Marisa and Zachary Jennings along with their mother Tammy, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters – Elaine Toivonen and Lourice Lahtinen.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming with the Rev. Scott Lindenberg to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday at the Wesley United Methodist Church from 11:00a.m. until the time of service at 1:00p.m.

Pallbearers will be John Paveglio, Donald Stille, David Lahtinen, and Michael Toivonen.
