Jefferson City, TN- Vieno L. Kemppainen, age 97 of Talbott, TN & formerly of Ishpeming passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Life Care Center in Jefferson City.

Vieno was born May 9, 1912 in North Lake, MI to Jacob & Senja Luoma. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Makela Forest Products for 25 years. Vieno was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Vieno is survived by her son John (Barbara) Kemppainen of Talbott, TN. 2 grandsons: Richard Kemppainen of Talbott and Robert (Allison) Kemppainen of Arnold, MD, along with nieces & nephews. Vieno was preceded in death by her parents, husband Uno, and a sister Saima Hangas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Ishpeming (Co. Rd 581) with Rev. Virginia Eggert officiating. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

A visitation for Vieno will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
