Obituary
Ishpeming – Victor G. Jarvinen, age 75 of 264 Hill St., Ishpeming passed away on Friday January 31, 2014 in the Emergency Room at the Bell Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Victor was born September 20, 1938 in Ishpeming, MI, the son of the late Victor and Linda (Oja) Jarvinen. Victor was a lifelong Ishpeming resident and a graduate of the Ishpeming High School. He had worked for the L.S. & I. Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1999 as a maintenance supervisor.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Lindley "Timmee" Jarvinen of Ishpeming, 2 sons – James (Terri) Jarvinen of Middleburg, FL and Jaron Jarvinen of Austin, TX, a daughter Vickie (Bill) Galloway of Piedmont, SC, 2 step-children – Michael Perry and Kelli Perry, a sister Linda (Don) Asmund of Humboldt Twp., 3 granddaughter – Heather, Kayla and Nicole, along with 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers – Vernon and Bruce Jarvinen.
Honoring Victor's wishes, he will be cremated, with no public services.
