Obituary

Tracy Leigh Tasson, age 55, of Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Her husband and the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) P. Tasson was at her side as was her adoring family.

Tracy was born February 25, 1959 in Lubbock, TX. She attended primary school in Lubbock and in1969 her family relocated to Mesquite, TX where she attended middle school and graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1977.

Tracy was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, TX for 12 years as a systems analyst. She traveled nationwide, installing and conducting training on banking software. Tracy took early retirement from the Federal Reserve in 1990 and joined her parents in Santa Barbara, CA to attend Santa Barbara City College. After completing two semesters, she was recruited by Dames & Moore, a worldwide environmental consulting firm, first, as western region northern California Accounting Manager and later was recruited by the Dames & Moore Information Technology Department as a systems analyst. She left Dames & Moore in 1998 and moved to the Upper Peninsula where she and Tom Tasson, were married on April 23, 1999. Tracy worked with Tom managing their electrical contracting firm, Tilden Valley Electric, until they sold the company in 2001.

Tracy was a devoted wife, daughter, and step-mother, and she loved taking care of her family. She cared for her father-in-law and mother-in-law when their health failed, and she also cared for her mother during cancer treatments. She particularly loved taking care of her step-daughter, Kaylie Tasson, who came to live with Tracy and Tom when Kaylie's mother succumbed to cancer in 2008. Tracy was a great cook and even perfected her own Pasty recipe. Her favorite place in the world was "camp", and she and Tom spent all their summers there.

Tracy is survived by; her beloved husband, Thomas P. Tasson and step-daughter, Kaylie Tasson, her precious mother and father, James Whitten and Belen Mosley, her adored brother and sister, Rick Whitten (Sherri) and Rhonda Whitten Rumage (Brian), her aunt, Linda Drake, her nieces, Christine Whitten, Jerilyn Endrizzi (Jim Milz) and Michelle Ketola, brother-in-law, Terry Tasson (Janet), lifelong friends, Judy Kluth and Kelli Duncan, all her sweet cousins, and three special children in her life, Amanda, Ethan & Phoenyx Bertucci.

Tracy is pre-deceased by; her dear grandparents, George & Orea Whitten (Mom-Mom & Dad-Dad) and Floyd and Marjorie Durham (Granny & Floyd), her dear in-laws, Louis and Kay Tasson, and nephew, Brandon Terrebone.

Tracy was under the care of Lake Superior Hospice and the family thanks them from their hearts for their wonderful care of Tracy.

Honoring Tracy's request, there will be no services.
