Obituary

Scottsdale, AZ – Thomas R. Tresidder, age 81, Scottsdale, AZ passed away on Friday, September 25th, 2009 at Scottsdale Village Square.

Roy was born in Marquette, MI on February 1, 1928, the son of the late Thomas S. and Olive (Whitford) Tresidder. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1946 before entering the United States Army, serving in the Army of Occupation in Korea. He then attended Northern Michigan University.

Roy was involved in many clubs and organizations, including Elks Post #447. He managed the Iron Ore and Reflector newspaper that later became the Mining Journal. In 1953, Roy founded and operated Globe Printing for 25 years. Another publishing adventure was the Travelure for the UP. He and his wife Adele moved to Arizona in 1978 where they purchased a printing company that became Horizon Graphics in Tempe. The family operated it for 31 years. Roy and Adele spent their summers at Lake Michigamme.

Roy is survived by his wife, Mercedes Adele (Kumpula) Tresidder of Scottsdale, AZ; children Terry Tresidder of Phoenix, AZ; and Dennis Tresidder of Lewistown, MT; grandchildren Paige and Brett Tresidder; sisters-in-law Marlene Mongiat of Ishpeming and Elaine Edens of San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Lynn Streib.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming on October 10, 2009 at 11:00AM with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Roy's family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00AM until the time of services at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
