Ishpeming – Thomas G. Paull, age 78 of 612 N. Second St., Ishpeming passed away Friday March 14, 2008 at the Marquette General Hospital, where he had been a patient since this past Sunday. Tom had been in ill health for the past year.
Thomas was born Feb. 21, 1930 in Ishpeming, the son of the late Thomas and Phyllis (Gale) Paull. Tom was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1950. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Botetourt, during the Korean Conflict, being honorably discharged on June 12, 1954. Upon his return from the service, he began his employment with the City of Ishpeming, first in the waterworks dept, as a meter reader, and later with the Ishpeming Fire Department as a Fireman and E.M.T. Tom was a member of the Mitchell United Methodist Church. He very much enjoyed going for walks, and his rides to Palmer and Green Bay, where he would visit family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Betty Paull of Ishpeming, whom he married May 22, 1986; 4 children – Deborah (Terry) Gardiner of Green Bay, WI, Barry (Kim) Harris of Howard, WI, Lorie Ann Weaver of Iowa and Michael (Betty) Quayle of Suffolk, VA, a sister – Beverly Conrad of Ishpeming, 11 grandchildren including Shawn K. Quayle, Kristina Gardiner, Brooke, Jordan and Isaiah Harris & Mike Quayle, along with 2 nephews – Douglas and David (Sue) Conrad, and cousins Tom & Ruth Cyr of Manassas, VA. He was preceded in death by a son Richard James LaJeunesse.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 2:00 until 4:00pm on Monday March 17, 2008 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to follow at 4:00pm with the Rev. Eric Kieb to officiate. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee Twp.
