Ishpeming Twp.- Theresa Ann Marra, age 57, Ishpeming Township resident went home to be with her Lord on Monday February 16, 2015 at her home while in the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Theresa was born on June 14, 1957 in Ishpeming to Donald & Patricia (Dallas) LaCosse. She graduated from Gwinn High School, class of 1975 and received an associates degree from Northern Michigan University. Theresa worked as a medical transcriptionist at Bell Memorial Hospital (UP Health System Bell) for over 25 years, retiring in 2012.
Theresa was a devout Catholic, she was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, was involved with the Hearts of Mercy Prayer Group of St. Peters Cathedral in Marquette and the Diocesan Charismatic Service Team. Her family was very special to her, she was very proud of her two daughters and she would light up when she was with her grandsons. Theresa enjoyed shopping, cooking and baking.
Theresa is survived by her parents Don & Pat LaCosse of Marquette, 2 daughters: Tonya (Jim) Allen of Ishpeming and Traci Marra of Marquette, 2 grandsons: Michael & Zachary Allen, a sister: Catherine (Michael) Windberg of Menominee, MI, a brother Jason LaCosse of Tampa, FL, special friend Monsignor Michael J. Steber, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Michael Marra and a sister Debbie LaCosse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 PM on Friday February 20th at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Monsignor Michael J. Steber as main celebrant and Fr. Larry Van Damme, Fr. Greg Heikkala, & Fr. Marty Flynn as concelebrants.
Theresa's family will greet relatives and friends at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday February 20th from 2:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial considerations may be directed to Care Clinic of Marquette, 1213 N. Third St. Marquette, MI 49855 in memory of Theresa.
A luncheon will be held at the K/D Hall following the Funeral Mass.
