Republic, MI- Theodore F. "Ted" Shepeard, age 70 of 577 Magnetic Ave. Republic, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Oscar G. Johnson Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

Theodore was born August 11, 1942 in Republic to Theodore & Elizabeth (Voegtline) Shepeard and graduated from Republic High School. Ted enjoyed playing softball and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Republic Sportsman Club and the Republic Twp. Volunteer Fire Department.

Ted was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Susan (Roger) Whitehill of Anderson, MO, and Pamela (Peter) Pestka of Ontonagon, MI, a son Robert Shepeard of Iron Mountain, stepsons Don Lawrence and Steve Lawrence of Menominee, MI and Rich (Gaylin) Lawrence of Milwaukee, sisters: Elizabeth (David) LaPine of Milwaukee, Mercedes (Jerome) Lehto of Haines City, FL and Susan (Steve) Gilbertson of Black River Falls, WI, brothers: Francis (Susan) Shepeard of Milwaukee and Spalding (Tammy) Shepeard of Marine City, MI, grandchildren: Brandon, Bradley and Benjamin Whitehill, Jessica Chabot, Ashley and Amber Shepeard, step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, daughter in law Tammy Lawrence, and many dear friends as well as his canine friends Nicky, Mollie and Ginger. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Anthony Shepeard, a sister Loretta Nault, and a step son Scott Lawrence.

A memorial service for Ted will be held 1:00pm on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Grant Nyman VFW Post 5014 in Republic. A luncheon will be held following the service.

Inurnment will take place in the Republic Twp Cemetery.
