Ishpeming Twp. – Tellervo V. Annola, age 88, of Ishpeming Twp., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at the Mather Nursing Center.
Tellervo was born in Karjala, Finland. She grew up in Finland where she attended school and was employed in the livestock industry doing artificial insemination. Tellervo came to the United States in 1952 briefly moving to Rock, MI prior to coming to the Negaunee and Ishpeming area, where she had resided since. Tellervo had worked for the H.W. Gossard Co. in Ishpeming as a seamstress for several years. She enjoyed knitting and sewing along with baking. Tellervo was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters – Liisa (Heather) of Ishpeming and Tina (Elie) of Montreal, QC, Canada, a granddaughter Eva of Montreal, QC Canada, sister Taru Stenback of Tampere, Finland. She was preceded in death by her husband Emil Annola along with 9 brothers and sisters.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10am – 12 noon on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon on Monday at the Bethel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her son-in-law Elie, along with Roger Pietro, Roger Pietro Jr. and Dave Magnuson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in Tellervo's memory.
