Republic, MI, Mrs. Susan Elaine Stankus, 64, of 7778 Oak Dr. Republic. , passed away on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at her home in Republic under the loving care of her husband and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Susan was born in Ellwood City, PA on June 2, 1945, the daughter of the late Frank and Flora (Shallenberger) Pawol. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in Chicago. She and her husband moved from Calumet City, IL to Republic in 1994. She enjoyed wildlife and her dogs

Susan is survived by her husband Tom, whom she married February 28, 1978, brothers in laws and sisters in laws; Donald (Kris) Stankus of Worden, IL, Virginia (Donald) Orloff of Hobart, IN, John (Julie) McCarthy of Munster, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private funeral services will be held with interment to take place at the Republic Twp Cemetery.
