Ishpeming - Susan Marie (Tuominen) Hintsala, age 65, of 215 Hazel St. Ishpeming, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at UP Health System Marquette while in the loving care of her family and hospital staff.

Susan was born in Ishpeming on October 30, 1953, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Harvey) and Reino J. Tuominen. Susan attended Champion Public Schools graduating with the class of 1971. She was united in marriage to Reino W. Hintsala Jr. on December 8, 1973. She worked in medical billing at Bell Memorial Hospital for many years.

Susan loved going to the casino on the weekends, crocheting things for her grandkids, and enjoyed doing other crafts. She also liked to go out to eat and enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida.  She loved spending time with her grandkids and had a giant loving heart for all of her family.

Surviving are her husband; Reino, Children; Erick J. Hintsala, and Reino (Suzanne) Hintsala III, Sisters; Mary Conery, Martha Snyder, and Betty (Timothy) Airaudi, Brother; William (Nannette) Tuominen, Brother-in-law; Robert Emanuelson, 5 Grandchildren; Haley, Brandyn, Caitlyn, Ashelyn, and Emellyn, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Carrie Emanuelson and Nancy Tuominen and brother John Tuominen.

Susie was known for her infectious laugh and her tender heart. She was a fun loving and joyful woman and her family always came first.

Susan's family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 3:00-5:00 PM.  Rev. D. Michael Carriere will be officiating the funeral service at 5:00 PM.

Burial will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
