Obituary
Ishpeming- Susan M. Certo, age 70 of 739 S. Pine St. Ishpeming passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at UP Health System- Bell.
Susan was born December 30, 1943 in Ishpeming to Walter & Marie (Bjorne) Salo. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1961. Sue enjoyed sewing & knitting- made many beautiful items for family & friends. She enjoyed traveling around the country, casino time, but most importantly to her were her grandchildren- the loves of her life. Susan was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and the Towanda Club.
Susan is survived by 2 children: Duane (Elaine Lancour) Certo of Ishpeming, & Linda (Vito) Carello of Ishpeming grandchildren: Challan Certo, Gavin Certo, David Lancour, Jessica Carello, Christian Carello, Devin Carello and Danny Carello, 2 brothers: Ken (Maribeth) Salo and Gary Salo, 2 sisters: Norine Maki and Ruth Warlin, sister-in-law Dorothy Salo along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Susan was preceded in death by her husband Clyde, son Brian, grandson Nicholas, parents Walter and Marie Salo, and a brother John Salo.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Sue's family will greet relatives and friends at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00pm until the time of service at 5:00pm.
