Ishpeming, MI- Steven E. "Penji" Pennala, 47, Ishpeming resident passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at his residence.

Steven was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on January 13, 1976, a son of the late Miriam L. (Mongiat) and Ronald N. Pennala. He graduated from Westwood High School, Class of 1995.

Steve enjoyed playing pool for the Rainbow Bar, Throwing Darts, watching his beloved Detroit Lions and listening to music, mainly KISS. Steve was also a huge supporter of Live Local Bands, especially his brother's band SPUN.

Steve is survived by his brother Doug (Kristal) Pennala, Nieces: Briana Pennala, Joslin and Kenzie Aho, Nephews: Hayden and Parker Pennala, Colin Aho, Hunter and Jacob Laakso, along with several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Troy Pennala and lifelong best friend Jason "Gator" Laakso.

A Celebration of Steve's life will be held at a later date.
