Obituary

Naples, Fl- Steven G. Nelson, 53, of Naples, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 16, 2020.

Steve was born in Ishpeming, MI on May 5, 1967 to Allyson M. Nelson (Hyett) and Kenneth D. Nelson Sr., graduated from Westwood High School Class of 1985, and went on to graduate with an Engineering Degree from Michigan Tech University.  Steve married the love of his life Sara on September 21, 2013, in Leelanau, MI.

Steve is survived by his wife Sara Nelson (Schultz), his parents Allyson M. Nelson (Hyett) and Ken Nelson, and stepmother Shirley, brothers Kenneth (Kate) Nelson Jr. and Kevin (Katie) Nelson, and his sister Kristyn Nelson (Juidici).  He will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews Sidney, Tanner, Adeline, Gillian, Shelby, Victoria, and Ethan. Steve was preceded in death by his nephew Cory John Nelson.   Steve is also survived by Sara's family including her mother Robin Edwards (Pintrick) and Rich Kolb, her fathers Dave Schultz and Greg Edwards, her brother Shaun Edwards "the 3rd Amigo", her sister Susanne (Shawn) Thornhill, her grandfather Edward Schultz, and his two fur babies, Cash and Chloe.

He was known affectionately as Steve-O by his countless friends he's met along the way, each who has their own story to tell about the great man he was and how much he meant to them.  Steve loved boating and being on the water which he began with the Cass Lake Crew in Waterford, MI and continued when he and Sara moved to Naples FL in 2012 where he found his Naples Crew.  He took great pride in being a member of the Naples Kiltsmen and of the BVI 8.  He enjoyed a fulfilling and successful career as Senior Manager of Sales and Global Marketing for Shaw Development, LLC in Bonita Springs, FL.

Steve and Sara's families will always be grateful to his endless list of friends and family, especially the Naples Crew who have never left Sara's side and continue to do so. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. A memorial will be held in his honor at a later date.

His love for life was contagious. His voice filled every room. His absence will most certainly leave an immeasurable void.
