Naples, FL. – Stanley C. Lindberg, age 88, longtime resident of Ishpeming, MI passed away on Saturday May 2, 2020 in Naples, FL after a short illness.
Stanley was born on July 23, 1931 to Stanley R. and Aileen M. (Tyni) Lindberg and was a lifelong resident of Ishpeming. He was a 1949 graduate of Ishpeming High School and earned a BS degree from Northern Michigan University in 1953. He married his wife, Jeanette A. Moilanen, on October 10, 1953.
He spent his high school and college summer vacations working part-time for the family construction company, A. Lindberg & Sons, Inc., and then full time after college until he and his immediate family sold their shares in the business, retiring as president of the company on December 30, 1980.
Stanley is survived by a son Rolfe (Catherine) Lindberg of Sammamish, WA; daughter Anne (Craig) Stone of Naples, FL; 5 grandchildren – Logan Stone of Los Angeles, CA and Katherine (T.J.) Solomon of West Palm Beach, FL, Nicolette Lindberg of Loma Linda, CA, Bianca and Lucas Lindberg of Sammamish, WA, as well as several cousins and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette (2019), and his mother and father.
Stan was quite active during his lifetime, belonging at one time or another to several civic organizations, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Miners First National Bank & Trust Company. He also served several years as an Ishpeming City Councilman as well as a year as Mayor Pro-tem and also served as a Director and Vice President of the Michigan Road Builders Association for a term. At the time of his death he remained a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Ishpeming as well as a regular winter/visitor at the East Naples United Methodist Church of Naples, FL. He was also a member of the Ishpeming Elks Club.
Stan enjoyed several hobbies, among them being an ardent woodworker, building numerous items of furniture and restoring and refinishing old furniture. He also enjoyed spending time at attempting to be creative with his computer. He enjoyed spending the past 35-plus winters at his condo in Naples, FL, golfing and taking advantage of the numerous cultural opportunities offered there. He was an avid fan of the University of Michigan (Go Blue) athletic teams. But his greatest pleasure was in spending quality time with his family, especially his precious grandchildren.
He loved to tell stories about his childhood and the many experiences he encountered in the business world.

As per Stanley's wishes, there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at the Ishpeming Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home. Stanley's obituary may be viewed at bjorkandzhulkie.com where relatives and friends may leave a note of remembrance.
