Ishpeming - Signi J. Poirier, age 77, of 188 North Shore Dr. Ishpeming, passed in her sleep on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home in Cooper Lake Loc.

Signi was born in Escanaba on March 11, 1944, daughter of the late Irene (Metsala) and John Mattson. She was a graduate of the Negaunee High School.  Throughout her life, Signi filled her days enjoying the company of family and friends, tending to her flower garden, and completing numerous sewing projects.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William Poirier of Ishpeming; a son Daniel (Lois) Poirier of Negaunee; 2 grandsons - Dale and Scott (Emily) Poirier; two sisters - Cindi (Mike) Harju of Negaunee; Leona (Art) Sakkinen of Calumet; two brothers - Mike (Debbie) Mattson of Marquette; Russell (Lorraine) Mattson of Two Harbors, MN; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Signi was preceded in death by son Dale, infant son Dean and brother Kenneth Mattson.

Private family services will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
