Ishpeming – Shirley L. Crimmins, age 82 of 684 Mather Ave. Ishpeming passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2011 at the Marquette General Hospital while surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born December 19, 1928 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Walter E. and Rhoda (Heayn) Lindberg. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1946. Shirley married Walter Crimmins on August 2, 1947 in Dubuque, IA, and together they enjoyed raising their sons Roger and David. A lifelong Ishpeming resident, Shirley was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where she had been active with the United Methodist Women, and the Eastern Star. She was also a longtime member of the Wawonowin Country Club, where she enjoyed golfing and playing cards. Shirley had been an active participant in cribbage leagues and with various groups who played Bridge. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were always a source of great inspiration for her.
Survivors include 2 sons – Roger (Cathy) Crimmins and David (Jacqulin) Crimmins both of Marquette, 4 grandchildren – Bradley (Adrianne Wolf) Crimmins, Jennifer (Bradley Bazinette) Crimmins, Katie (Jeremy) Nelson and Rebecca (Tom) Bond, 4 great grandchildren – Samantha, Jacob, Benjamin Bazinette and Garrett Crimmins, 3 sisters-in-law – Charlotte Danner, Mary Danner and Jean Foust, and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley also leaves special friends Mary Farley and Maria Dunn whose loving and compassionate care made it possible for her to remain at her home during her illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Crimmins in 1998
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Monday June 20, 2011 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm on Monday at the Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Lindenberg to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Crimmins, Bradley Bazinette, Jeremy Nelson and Tom Bond.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Shirley's memory.
