Ishpeming - Sheryl K. Ring, age 64, of 4535 Co Rd PBH Ishpeming, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at her home and under the loving care of her family and U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Sheryl was born in Ishpeming on June 10, 1958, a daughter of the late Yvonne G. (Brown) and Jack F. Scanlon. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1976. Sheryl worked as an installer at Carpet Specialists in Ishpeming for many years, as well as a salesclerk at Jim's IGA and the Coast to Coast in Ishpeming.

Sheryl was a member of the Tilden Club, loved gardening, wood working, going for side-by-side rides; was a former member of the Ishpeming Pool and Horseshoe Leagues; enjoyed the outdoors and all the activities that surrounded it. She will be remembered as a baker and cook and gave out numerous recipes written out on recipe cards, but most of all she loved hanging out with her grandson.

Survivors include her husband of the past 22 years, David F. Ring of Ishpeming, two sons, Cory Hocking of Rhinelander, WI and Tom (Dessa) Hocking of Marquette, a grandson, Declan Hocking, siblings, Patrick (Carrie) Scanlon of Ishpeming, Mary Ann (John) Ackley of Galesburg and John (Barb) Scanlon of Ishpeming, sister-in-law, Carol Scanlon of Negaunee along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Dan Scanlon.

A time for sharing memories and celebrating Sheryl's life will be held from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sheryl's family in order to set up a college fund for her grandson Declan Hocking.
