Ishpeming – Sherry L. Lusardi, age 68, of 527 Duncan Ave., Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at UP Health System Marquette, with her husband and children at her side.

Sherry was born in Ishpeming on May 15, 1953, the youngest daughter of the late Tellerva (Larson) and Ernest Niemi. She grew up in Suomi Location and was a graduate of the Negaunee High School, Class of 1971. She married the love of her life, John Lusardi, of Ishpeming, on Sept 28, 1974, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Suomi Loc', and together, they had three children. Sherry worked as a Bank Teller at the D&N in Ishpeming and then for 20 years at the Peninsula Bank, mainly at the Pen West Branch. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Ishpeming.

Sherry was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved following her kids' activities, playing with her grandbaby, and spending time with John. She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing games with family and friends, singing, reading, and doing puzzles. She was an exceptional baker, grew beautiful flowers, and loved making traditions. Sherry is fondly remembered by her family and friends for her love and thoughtfulness, witty sense of humor, being the life of the party, and for encouraging them to (making them) participate in all those traditions. She is deeply loved and forever in their hearts.

Sherry is survived by her husband John Lusardi of Ishpeming; 3 children - Michael Lusardi of Las Vegas, NV, Jen (Wendy) Lusardi of Milwaukee, WI, and Ryan (Sara) Lusardi of Grand Rapids, MI; a grandson Marcus Lusardi; mother-in-law – Rita Lusardi; sisters - Violet (Larry) Joseph of Las Vegas, NV, Carol (Ted) Valeski of Quinnesec, MI, and Marlene King of Covington, MI; sisters-in-law – Barbara Lusardi, Kathy (Chris) Pepin, Faye Lewis and, Denise Lusardi; brothers-in-law – Kenny (Marcia) Lawson, Andy (Michelle) Lusardi, and David (Sandi) Lusardi; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law - Andrew Lusardi Sr; sisters - Jean Lawson and Mae Kassman; brothers-in-law - Reggie Lusardi, Grover "Dan" Lewis, and Duane King; nephews - Rick Lawson, Brian Joseph, Ted Valeski, Jr., and Robert Kassman.

The family will welcome family and friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM with the Rev. Bruce Thorsen to officiate. The Funeral will be livestreamed and may be found on Bethany Lutheran's Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/715Mather/ A luncheon will follow in the Church Hall. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family encourages attendees to wear masks for the safety of all.
