Obituary
Marquette/Republic- Shawn P. "Yo" Radcliffe Jr, age 38 of 9 Specker Circle Marquette and former Republic resident passed away, Friday June 29, 2012 on Lake Michigamme as a result of an accident.
Shawn was born November 25, 1973 in Ishpeming to Shawn P. & Victoria (Lyyski) Radcliffe Sr. He graduated from Republic-Michigamme High School, class of 1993. He received his Corrections Certificate from Northern Michigan University. Shawn worked as a deputy sheriff for Marquette County and for the past 7 years worked for the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer at the Marquette Branch Prison.
Shawn enjoyed playing basketball and was a Michael Jordan fan, and a Green Bay Packers fan. He was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed tinkering with just about anything. He loved time spent with two sons, camping, fishing and boating.
Shawn will be missed by his two sons: Bryce & Christian Radcliffe, parents Shawn & Victoria Radcliffe Sr. of Republic, 2 brothers: William (April) Radcliffe of Republic and Joe (fiancé Amy) Radcliffe of Waupun, WI, his significant other Charlene Mullen and her two boys Demetrise "Bubba" and Desmond of Marquette, nephews: Jack & Brody, nieces: Alexa, Allie, Faith, Raeann and Trinity, uncles: Mike (Beverly) Radcliffe of Elgin, SC, Walter (Donna) Lyyski of Waupun, WI, Robert (Roxann) Lyyski of Brandon, WI, William Pietila of Humboldt, aunts: Cheryl (Stu) Abbott of Ishpeming great aunt Linda Swanson of Republic, great uncle Richard (Molly) Raisinen, great great aunt Lillian Luhtala of Arizona along with many cousin and friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his great grandparents Jalmer & Grace Raisinen, grandparents Eino & Julia Lyyski and George & Margaret Radcliffe and an aunt Valdray Pietila.
Funeral services for Shawn will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, July 3rd at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Republic with Rev. William Payne officiating. Interment will take place in the Republic Twp Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Republic from 10:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm.
Pallbearers will be William Radcliffe, Joe Radcliffe, Bob Lyyski, Walter Lyyski, Mike Belpedio & Tony Laurin
Honor Guard will be members of the Michigan Department of Corrections.
