Republic- Sharon Marie Perry, age 79, of 7730 Oak Drive Republic, and former Ishpeming Township resident, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

Sharon was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 30, 1940, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Waananen) Kangas.  She graduated from Republic High School, class of 1958.  Sharon married James Perry on August 31, 1962.

Sharon worked as the Office Manager for Ishpeming Township for 20 years.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making afghans for her family and friends.  Family time at camp was a special time for her, as long as her dog "Sammy" was at her side.  Sharon and Jim enjoyed wintering in Gulf Shores, Alabama, traveling throughout the United States or just getting out for a ride.

Sharon is  survived by her husband Jim Perry, a son, Chris (Teresa) Perry of Ishpeming, a sister, Norma (Peter) Sevegney of Ishpeming, a brother, Donald (Sharon) Kangas of Republic, a brothers in law, Lenny Laurila of Negaunee, Vern (Karen) Perry and Kenny Perry both of Florida, grandchildren: Jesse Perry, Jordyn Olander, Darian Ahtonen, Lola Morrison, and Grace Morrison, along with several nieces and nephews.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janet Laurila.

Due to current restriction regarding COVID-19, a private family service will be held.
