Ishpeming- Sharon J. Patron, age 79, lifelong area resident, passed away on Thursday January 5, 2023 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, and nursing home staff.

Sharon was born in Princeton, MI on July 19, 1943, daughter of the late Elmer Joki and Lydia Besola. She grew up and attended school in both Negaunee and Ishpeming. Sharon was a homemaker, spending many years raising her 8 children and helping raise her grandchildren.

Sharon was a devoted Christian, who always read her bible and was known for her kindness, patience, and genuine generosity for others. She enjoyed doing puzzles, crosswords, talking on the phone with relatives and friends, and spending time with her family. During her time at MCMCF Sharon enjoyed participating in all the different activities provided at the facility. Most of all Sharon was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by 7 children- Julie Dobson, Glenn Patron, Steven Patron, Kristine (Jim) Hamm, Karen (Earl) Stephens, Peter Kangas, Ruth Ann (Jason) Weyer, 8 grandchildren- Daniel Dobson, Shannon (Pat) Rushford, Ryan Harmala, Brianna Stephens, Sara Kangas, Saya Kangas, Jason Jr. and Lilli Weyer, 3 great grandchildren- Isaiah Patron, Isabella Wesley, Autumn Rushford, brother- Francis Joki, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Peter Patron, son- David Patron, 8 siblings- Charles Joki, Edward Joki, Arthur Joki, Patricia Kangas, Helen Marcotte, Ida Heikkila, Marion Lahti, and Rose Smith.

Sharon's family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm on Thursday January 12, 2023 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Steve Weston officiating. A luncheon will follow the services in the church fellowship hall. Interment with committal prayers will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery in the spring.

Sharon's family would like to extend a special thank you to the MCMCF staff, Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, and all the doctors and healthcare providers for the excellent care that was given to Sharon over the years.
