Obituary

Ishpeming – Sharon Ann (Skewis) Johnson, age 63, of 1870 Cindy St., Ishpeming Twp. passed away peacefully at her son's home, while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday June 23, 2013. Sharon Skewis was born on September 5, 1949 in Ishpeming. Upon graduating from the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1967, she married and moved to Rapid River for a brief period. Later, she moved back to Ishpeming to raise a family, with which she was very proud of. She obtained a degree from NMU, during which time she had worked in the summers at the Bay Cliff Health Camp where she showed her compassion for children with disabilities which was carried throughout her lifetime. Sharon was employed by Cliffs Natural Resources (CCI) for over 40 years, starting at the main offices in Ishpeming and later transferring to the Empire Mine where she worked as an office administrator. Sharon's greatest gift was her ability to impact many with her compassion, sincerity and positive outlook on life. Her smile lit up a room.
