Obituary

Ishpeming, MI- Sharon Ann Burnette-Venn, age 84, longtime Champion and resident passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she has resided since 2018.

Sharon was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Amelia (Sharon) Gaffney and Willard F. Burnette.  She graduated from Champion High School, class of 1954.

Sharon worked at the Champion School as a custodian and bus driver for many years.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion.

Sharon was artistic and loved to paint and read, she enjoyed time spent camping at Squaw Lake, loved to die her hair any color, and whole heartily loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by a son, Ray (Dana) Rosten, of Clinton, IL; two daughters, Penny Miettinen, and Judy (Steve Antilla) Venn, and a son, Robert  Venn, all of Republic, grandchildren:  Andrew, Brian (Sam), and Timothy (fiancée Bryanna)  Rosten,  Elizabeth, Kelsey, Paige Kuppin, Hilary (Mike) Stampee, Robert Fields, Susie Prodell, great grandchildren: Tyler, Tanner and Isaac, Rae, Leslie and Melinda, a sister, Darlene Chrysler, of Bay City, MI, a brother in law Mike Bailey, a sister in law Donna Venn, special cousin Richard Mager along with several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Venn, 2 sisters: Karen Reed, Pat Bailey and her adopted mother Rose Carriere.

A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held at a later time.

The family would like to thank the staff at MCMFC for the wonderful care given to Sharon.
