Bessemer Twp- Sharlene Marie Beekman, age 56 of N10361 Puritan Rd. Bessemer, and longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the Grandview Hospital.

Sharlene was born May 29, 1952 in Ishpeming to Louis & Gertrude (Penrose) Tatrault. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1970. She lived in Ishpeming until 2000 when she moved to Bessemer. While living in Ishpeming she enjoyed playing in the Ishpeming Women's Pool League. Sharlene had a love for her dogs, Mimi, Mustti and Mutti.

Sharlene is survived by 3 children: Brenda Nelson of Madison, WI, Tina (fiancée Allen Johnson) Nelson of Ishpeming and Michael Nelson of Ishpeming, 4 grandchildren: Miranda, Audrianna, Hailey and Hannah Nelson, her life partner Gary Aho of Bessemer, a sister Charlotte (David) Koski of Arbor Vitae, WI, a niece Sandra Koski along with several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 12:00noon at the Ishpeming Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Tooman officiating.
