Sarah L LaPointe

Ishpeming- Sarah L. LaPointe, age 81 formerly of 111 Bluff St. #310 Ishpeming, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she been a resident since March 28, 2007.

Sarah was born January 26, 1926 in Watton, MI to Armes & Jennie (Ellis) Liljeroos. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Ishpeming. Sarah, also known as Aiti, was loved by all who met her. She will always be remembered for her cooking, quick wit and the ability to make you feel special.

Sarah is survived by 2 children: Sharon (Peter) Dishnow and Larry (Janice) LaPointe both of Ishpeming, a sister, Shirley (Ed) Dauphinais of Marquette, 8 grandchildren: Sherry LaPointe, Scott (Cathy) LaPointe, Kimberly Dishnow, Kaydee (Jeff) Bess, Peter Dishnow, Diana (Jamie) Sundberg, Lisa Dishnow and Jerome Schilling, several great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, as well as her good friend Ann McCarthy. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Leo, a son Myles, great grandson Derrek LaPointe, great grandson Jacob Schilling, 5 sisters: Martha Colburn, Mae Hokenson, Anna Kauppila, Ellen Peterson and Ruth Mahaffey, and 2 brothers: Lauri and Reuben Liljeroos

Funeral services will be held 6:00p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Fr. James Challancin officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends may call the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00p.m. until the time of service at 6:00p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Dishnow, Jeff Bess, Jamie Sundberg, Greg Sundberg, Bruce Dutiel and Roger Kangas.
