Sandra J.
Mager
Dec 29, 1948 — Jul 2, 2026
Ishpeming- Sandra “Sandy” Mager, age 77, of Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday July 2, 2026 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by the love of her family. We are deeply grateful to the nurses, CNA's and other staff at Marquette County Medical Care Facility, whose kindness and attentive care brought comfort to our Mom/Nana and our family.
Sandy was born on December 29, 1948 in Marquette, and made Ishpeming her lifelong home. She was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, class of 1966.
Sandy spent most of her career working in medical offices. Outside of work, she found joy in creating beautiful things- knitting, quilting, and sewing were lifelong passions. Her greatest pride, though, was her flower gardens. Sandy’s yard was always in bloom, a reflection of her care, creativity, and the quiet joy she found in nurturing her plants.
Above all, Sandy was a giver- kind, loving, and endlessly supportive. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters: Lisa (Randy) Hay, Traci Champion (Rodney Lucas), and Becky (Bill) Morcom, and a proud Nana to her grandchildren: Will, Rachel, MaKenna, Miley, Wyatt, Kent, and Blake. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into them in countless ways.
Sandy is survived by her sister Janet Genoff and brother Greg Bone. She also leaves behind her best friend of many years, Irene Dishno, who was by her side throughout offering comfort and love. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents: Calvin and Lucille Bone, husband: Kenneth “Ken” Mager, siblings: Patricia Vial, Donald Bone, and Gayle Bone.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ishpeming Booster Club in memory of Sandy.
