ISHPEMING, MI - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Sandra Ann Lillian Lambert, who passed away after a short stay early Wednesday morning, April 8, 2026, at UP Health System - Marquette.

She was born at home in Chassell, Michigan on February 28,1939 to Wilbert and Bertha Johnson. Sandra married the love of her life, R. Terry Lambert, while he was a mining student at Michigan Tech. The family moved to Montana followed by Tennessee. Missing the UP, she was happy to move to Negaunee when Terry started working at the J&L Tracy Mine. Sandra spoke of her time living in Buffalo Hill Location as the happiest of her life. There she sewed beautiful clothes, making homemade meals and desserts for her family. When the Tracy Mine closed, the family moved to Indiana, Pennsylvania. While in Pennsylvania, she went back to school and became an LPN while raising her four children.

In 1975 the family returned to the local area and made Ishpeming their home. She worked many years at the old Bell Hospital before retiring to help care for her father. Sadly, Terry was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. She cared for him at home for many years until his passing in 2007. In her later years her greatest wish was to remain at home. Her children honored that wish by sharing their time to care for her in the home she loved.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and beloved daughter Jesslyn; brother, Raymond Johnson; and stepfather, Adolph Adamson.

Sandra is survived by her sons, Mark of Ishpeming and Terry of Milwaukee; her daughter, Lahna Rae and loving son-in-law Doug Champion of Indiana; grandchildren, Cassandra and Jeremy of Ishpeming, David (Rachel) Champion of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Aaron and Sarah Champion, Brenden Thibeault of Ishpeming; two great-great grandchildren; and brother, David (Phyllis) Adamson of Hancock.
