Ishpeming, MI- Sabine Richetta Johns, age 76 of 775 Mather Ave, Ishpeming passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 while under the loving care of her family, her lifelong friend Marianne Weyrauch-Harders and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Sabine was born on January 17, 1936 in Villingen, Germany to Ernst & Marie (Wild) Becht. She grew up in Germany where she was an excellent athlete excelling in track and field hockey. Sabine enjoyed winters in the UP cross country skiing and snowshoeing. She loved animals. Sabine will be missed by her family and many great friends.

Sabine is survived by her husband Wayne Johns, whom she married on September 10, 1955, 3 children: Sabina (Dale) Coker of Los Alamos, NM, Peter Johns and Phil (Christine) Johns of Ishpeming, 4 grandchildren: Lukas & Zakary Coker, Benjamin and Madigan Johns, nieces Lesley Critton of Toronto, Canada and Pamela Critton of Guelph, Canada and a niece Renata Critton-Papp and nephew Emerson Critton-Papp & two nephews Martin & Christopher in German. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Eva Becht and Renate Critton and a brother Rudolph Becht.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
