Ishpeming- Ryan Peter Filizetti, age 27, of 1025 Wabash St. Ishpeming, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 as a result of an ATV accident.
Ryan was born April 21, 1983 in Ishpeming to Michael & Ann (Goldsworthy) Filizetti. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 2001 and attended Northern Michigan University.
As a child, Ryan played Little League Baseball and also enjoyed playing basketball. During his high school years, he played hockey for the Negaunee Miners High School Hockey team. Most recently he participated in the Ishpeming Dart League, enjoyed golfing and played poker whenever he could.
Most importantly, Ryan was a kind, gentle soul who adored life. His never ending smile naturally drew people to him. Whether he was coordinating a poker game, organizing a get together with friends, or unselfishly devoting his life to his nephews, Ryan was always the center of attention.
Ryan is survived by his parents Mike and Ann Filizetti of Ishpeming, 2 brothers: Craig (Pam) Filizetti of Harvey and Jason (Jamie) Filizetti of Ishpeming, 2 very special nephews: Quintin and Dominic, his paternal grandfather Peter Filizetti of Ishpeming, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ryan also leaves behind his beloved pets, Rocko and Zoe. Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Eleanor Goldsworthy, paternal grandmother Germaine Filizetti, an Uncle Michael Goldsworthy and an Aunt Linda Steve.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 3:30pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.
Pallbearers will include his Uncles, Ken Goldsworthy, George Goldsworthy, Bill Goldsworthy, Lee Goldsworthy, Bruce Asgaard, John Filizetti, Jeremy Ring, and Tom Goldsworthy.
A luncheon will take place following the service at K/D Hall – St. Johns Catholic Church.
Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
