Ishpeming Twp- Ruth Edith Laituri, age 92 Ishpeming Township resident passed away Friday November 15, 2013 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility. Ruth was born February 4, 1921 in Gwinn, MI to Jalmer & Martha (Eckloff) Saari. She graduated from Palmer High School, class of 1939. Ruth resided in Palmer until 1979 when they moved to Ishpeming Township. Ruth enjoyed baking and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. Ruth is survived by 2 children: Rosalie Kempainen and Keith Laituri both of Ishpeming, a sister Doris (Justin) Piper of Davison, MI, 2 grandchildren: Daryl (Debra) Kempainen of Alexandria, LA and Cheryl (Tom Williamson) Fowler of Ishpeming 3 great grandchildren: Jessica Kempainen, Philip Kempainen and Trevor Fowler along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin in 2005, a brother Arvid Saari, son in law Philip Kempainen and a nephew David Piper. Ruth's family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday November 19th from 10:00-11:00am at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 11:00am with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens Memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in memory of Ruth.
