Ishpeming – Ruby Forchini, age 85, formerly of 316 Salisbury St., Ishpeming passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at UPHS Marquette. She had recently resided at the Marquette Co Medical Care Facility for the past 5 months.
Ruby was born September 8, 1930 in Negaunee the daughter of the late George and Mabel (Roberts) Mager. Ruby grew up in Negaunee and was a graduate of the Negaunee High School, Class of 1950. She married the late Bob Forchini in 1958 and had resided in Ishpeming since that time. Ruby worked for a short period at the H.W. Gossard Co. as a seamstress in Ishpeming, but her main calling was as a caregiver to family members in ill health, and as a homemaker.
Ruby was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church along with the Red Hat Society, and the Mather Nursing Centers Axillary. Ruby enjoyed crocheting in her younger years.
Survivors include her son Bob (Tammy) Forchini of Ishpeming, 2 grandchildren – Jake Forchini and Alexis Forchini both of Ishpeming, special nephew Jim (Julie) Mager of Ishpeming along with several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob S. Forchini in 1994 along with 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. JJ Mannschreck to officiate. Ruby's family will greet relatives and friends from 6 until 7pm Monday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Gwinn Cemetery.
