Oshkosh, WI – Roy A. Lundquist, age 83, former Champion resident passed away on Monday June 13, 2011 at the Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, WI where he had been a patient for the past day. Roy had resided in Britton, MI for the main portion of his life, and in Oshkosh, WI for the past 11 months.
Roy was born on April 1, 1928 in Erwin, SD the son of the late Arthur and Minnie (Heintz) Lundquist. He served in the US Army from September of 1946 - March of 1948 serving in an engineer surveying battalion from which he was honorably discharged, receiving the World War II Victory Medal. Roy was united in marriage to Jacqualine Isotalo on Feb 5, 1954. Roy worked for the Ford Motor Company as a tool and die welder for 22 years in Lower Michigan. His hobbies included flying, motorcycling, target shooting, wood working, and tinkering in his shop. He was an active member of the EAA since 1958, along with memberships in the American Legion Post 0070, and the NRA.
Survivors include his children - Lauri (Kim) Van Osdol of Appleton, WI, Terry (Robbin) Lundquist of Grass Lake, MI, Sandra (Calvin) Puttbrese of Brainerd, MN, Elaine (Scott) Linke of Princeton, WI, 10 grandchildren - Elizabeth, Alexandra (Peter) Larsen, Stephanie (Vipin) Arora, Tabitha (Andy) Uitenbroek, Ryan (Trima), Michael Linke, Nathan Puttbrese, Anna Linke, Hannah Puttbrese, Grace Linke and 9 great grandchildren, brothers - Kenneth (Barb), Stanley, Bob (Anne), Harlo (Annette), Larry, Raymond (Lisa), sisters - Gladys (Burton), Horsted, Joyce (Virgil) Jensen, a sister-in-law Elaine (Dixon) Holmgren of Champion along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqualine, parents, a son Larry A., 2 brothers – Harold and Neal Lundquist, and a sister Esther Daly.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 until 11am on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday June 20, 2011 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Carole Neitzel to officiate. The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380 will accord Military Honors at the conclusion of the services. Interment will take place at the Champion Cemetery.
