Ishpeming- Rosemary Pruett, 85, of Ishpeming, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 15, 2025, under the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Born on July 23, 1940, in Ishpeming, Michigan, to Joseph and Katherine (LaJoie) Pepin, Rosemary was a proud lifelong resident of her hometown. She graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1958 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Northern Michigan University.
On January 27, 1962, she married the love of her life, Paul Joseph Pruett. Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Rosemary dedicated her life to caring for others through her long and fulfilling nursing career, most recently at UP Internal Medicine and Mill Creek Assisted Living Facility. Her compassion, skill, and gentle nature touched countless lives over the decades.
Beyond her work, Rosemary's heart belonged to her family. She treasured fishing trips, camping adventures, crocheting projects, and cheering from the stands at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved to cook, and her kitchen was a place where family and friends gathered to enjoy her delicious meals, recipes, and the warmth of her company. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church in Ishpeming, where her faith was a source of strength and guidance.
Rosemary is survived by her three sons: Paul (Tammy) Pruett, Michael (Marcia) Pruett, and John Pruett; her sister Frances (Peter) Horn; her brother Joseph (Kathleen) Pepin; grandchildren Anthony Pruett, Vanessa Pruett, Kyle Pruett, Benjamin Pruett, Maigen Pruett, Mallory (Daniel) Pruett-Shank, Mollie (Derek) Slone, and Madison Pruett; great-grandchildren Hudson Orr, Kennedy Shank, and Ava Shank; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Paul "PJ" Pruett, and grandson; Jacob Pruett.
She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her selflessness, her gift for caring for others, and the way she made everyone feel welcome whether in her home, at work or in her heart.
In accordance to Rosemary's wishes no services will be held.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to UP Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care. Memorials may be directed to UP Home Health and Hospice in Rosemary's honor.
