Ishpeming, MI- Rosemarie (Valente) Strom, age 85 lifelong Ishpeming resident passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice, and staff at MCMFC.

Rosemarie was born August 10, 1938, in Ishpeming, to Frank S. and Cecelia T. (Sarvello) Valente. She graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1956. After graduating from the UP Beauty Academy, she owned and operated Rosemarie's Beauty Salon in Ishpeming until her marriage in 1958.

After her marriage, Rosemarie lived in lower Michigan where she raised her family and worked in several beauty salons before attending Lansing Community College where she obtained her degree in Cosmetology Instruction. She began her teaching career at Craig's College of Beauty.

After re-locating to Ishpeming, Rosemarie became an Instructor of Cosmetology at Northern Michigan University and after retiring from NMU she opened the Main Street School of Cosmetology in Ishpeming Michigan where she continued to follow her true calling which was teaching. She received the Evergreen Award of Marquette County in 2015.

Rosemarie is survived by her children; Bridget Allen, Madelyne Lawry, Frank (Barbara) Lawry, Julie (Patrick) Donahue and Bonny Henderson, stepson; David Strom, grandchildren; John Allen, Broc (Megan) Lawry, Travis Lawry, Danielle and Anna Donahue, great-grandsons; Beckam and Briggs Lawry, sisters; Clara Kutchie, Evelyn Valente-Heikkila and Mary (Eugene) Tasson, sister-in-law; Judy Valente, along with several nieces and nephews.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Knut Strom, brother Joseph Valente, sister Frances Valente, and grandsons Jaramie and Nash Kiebler.

Rosemarie's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Monday April 8, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Fr. Ryan Ford officiating. A luncheon will follow at K/D Hall at St. Johns Church.

Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
