Obituary
Ishpeming- Rosemarie "Sis" Carlson, 82, life long Ishpeming resident, passed away at 11:35 AM, Thursday, March 1st, 2007 peacefully at Mather Nursing Center, Ishpeming Twp., where she been a resident for the past 10 months
Rosemarie was born in Ishpeming on October 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Lena (Oberto) Marietti. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1942. She worked as an accounts payable clerk at Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company for 21 years retiring in 1994.
Rosemarie was active and organized the Ishpeming Senior Cribbage League for many years, she was a life long member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was involved with the Women's Guild and the choir. Rosemarie was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their activities.
Rosemarie is survived by 2 Daughters: Diane (Dave) Gadomski of Ishpeming, and Debbie (Mike) Dix of Ishpeming, a son: David A. Carlson of Iron Mountain, 7 grandchildren Chad & Todd Gadomski both of Phoenix, AZ, Beth (Bryce) Haley of Milwaukee, Kimberly Carlson of Ironwood, Brad Christian, Christopher Dix and Nicole Dix of Ishpeming, a sister Evelyn Eliassen of Munising and a brother Francis Marietti of Colorado along with numerous nieces & nephews.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Carlson, 4 brothers: John, Albert, James, & Myles Marietti, and 5 sisters: Minnie Ayotte, Ann Guy, Johanna Johnson, Mafalda Gall, and Charlotte Trebilcock.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, at 3:00p.m. on Monday, March 5th, with Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Monday March 5 from 1:00-3:00p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
