Obituary

Ishpeming – Rose Amelia (nee Mosca) Beatty Bullis, age 94, current Ishpeming and former Sarasota, FL resident passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she had been a resident for the past 3½ years.

Rose was born in Ishpeming, MI on December 11, 1924, daughter of the late Dora (LaJoie) and Michael Mosca. She attended the Ishpeming Schools.  Amelia as she was known worked locally as a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard Co in Ishpeming for many years along with serving as a waitress at Madelyns Pasty Shop. For 36 years Rose resided in Sarasota, FL returning to Ishpeming in 2000 following the passing of her husband Donald Bullis even though she was not overly fond of the cold weather.

While back in this area Rose did volunteer work at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans along with local senior centers.  She was a life member of the Ishpeming VFW, Post #4573 Auxiliary where she had served as Chaplin along with the American Legion and DAV. Rose loved to sew laptop quilts for the Veterans in Hospitals and Quilts for her grandchildren.

Rose is  survived by four daughters - Ruby (William) Mensching of Sharpsburg, GA; Sheila (Michael) Kjellman and Paulette (Gary) Vidlund both of Ishpeming; Gloria (Daniel) Sparapani of Marquette; a son Lester "Moe" Beatty Jr. of Vero Beach, FL; brother - Marshall (Marion) Randall of Ishpeming; grandchildren – Billy, Jeff & Chris Mensching, Michael (Marilyn) Kjellman, Kristopher (Kara) Kjellman & Timothy Kjellman, Brent Anderson, Brenda (Gary) Carlson, Jeff and Scott Jette, Gina (Ray) Keskimaki, Mindy (Bo) Moore, Brad, Todd and Madison Beatty; special great granddaughter Kaytlynne Carlson along with great grandchildren – Alexis and Johnathon Mensching, Riley and Blaise Anderson, Allison Jette, Megan, Luke, Kayla, & Ian Kjellman Jamie, James, Rueben, & Annette Kjellman, Abby Keskimaki, Kristine (Mike) Pfaff, Paula Beatty; great great grandchildren – Thea Marie and Damien Tyler Gareau, Aubry Marie Mensching, Olivia Mensching, Jaicyon Mounday and Alayasia Potts.  She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Bullis in 2000 along with her former husband Lester F. Beatty; sons - Robert and Gerald Beatty; brothers – Gregg, Martin, Albert and Clayton Mosca; sisters – Frances Mager, Ginny Beauschine and Mary Mosca.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 – 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at the funeral home with Fr. Ryan Ford to officiate.  A luncheon will follow the services at the Ishpeming VFW, post #4573.  Interment will take place at the Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota, FL.
