Ishpeming- Rosabel Petersen, age 91 formerly of 111 Bluff St. Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at the Mather Nursing Center while under the loving care of her family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Rosabel was born May 15, 1920 in St. Clair Shores, MI to Eugene & Margaret (Tucker) Jorah. She and her late husband Norman moved to the UP in 1947 moving from Detroit. Rosabel was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed gatherings with her friends: shopping trips and having her half of cup of coffee at Jubilee.

Rosabel is survived by 3 children: Robert (Debra) Petersen of Beloit, WI, Ronald Petersen of Humboldt and Bonnie (Charles) Carr of Diorite, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Rosabel was preceded in death by her husband Norman "Pete" Peterson in 1979, a daughter Beverley Heslip, a granddaughter June Boudreau, 2 sisters Emma and Mildred and 2 brothers Gene and Howard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00PM Friday, December 9, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. Interment will take place in the Humboldt Twp Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Johns Catholic Church on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00pm.
