Ishpeming – Ronald Jensen, age 77, of 684 Duncan Ave. Ishpeming passed away on Sunday October 4, 2015 at his home while under the care of his family and the Lake Superior Hospice.

Ronald was born February 10, 1938 in Marquette, MI the son of the late Ronald and Grace (Larson) Jensen. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1956 and moved to Rockford, IL shortly after graduation. He married Carol Gehlhausen on December 19, 1959. They moved back to Ishpeming in 1963 and have resided in this area ever since.

Ronald had been employed as an accountant for North Range Mining Co., the Credit Manager and Controller for Bell Memorial Hospital and the Business Manager for Negaunee Public Schools, until his retirement in 1993.

Ronald is survived by his wife Carol of Ishpeming, sons Charles (Tina) Jensen of Shelby Twp., MI, and Mark (Kristin) Jensen of Clarkston and grandsons Charles and Eric., a sister Patricia (Roy) Minich of Brighton, CO, brother Vern (Donna) Jensen of Muskegon, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Hansen.

Ronald's request was for cremation to take place, with no public visitation or memorial service to be held. A private interment will take place in the Good Shepherd Columbarium at the Ishpeming Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice.

We must thank Dr. Shana Gleason for the compassionate care she provided for our family. We are truly blessed to have her as a Doctor in our community. Many thanks to Rev. Warren Geier for his spiritual guidance and help during our time of grief, and the Lake Superior Hospice staff for their comfort and wonderful care during our time of need.
