Ishpeming, MI - Roger Paul LaVigne, age 68, of Ishpeming passed away on Tuesday September 10, 2024, at the Norlite nursing center in Marquette.

Roger was born on September 24th, 1955, to the late Bernard and Marie (Amel) LaVigne, and lived his entire life in Ishpeming. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1973. Roger had worked at Coca-Cola Bottling, Tasson Distributing and the NICE Community Schools as a bus driver and janitor. As he liked to say, "I delivered pop, beer and kids." Roger also had worked for Ishpeming Cleaners and the Wawonowin Country Club during the summers. He was a past member of the Ishpeming Elks, Tilden Club, Ishpeming Beagle Club, Ishpeming Cribbage and Pool Leagues where he was affectionately known as "Minnesota Slim." Roger enjoyed 4-wheeling, riding around and checking up on friends along with watching old Western's.

Roger is survived by his wife of 45 years Peggy (Kikstra) LaVigne of Ishpeming, his sister and brother-in-law,  Midge and George Paavo of Negaunee, brothers-in-law,  John Quaal, Leonard and Michael Kikstra, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dolores, infant brother Gary, mother-in-law Joanne Kikstra, great nephew Corie Carlson and great niece Alyssa Maddox as well as several aunts and uncles.

Rogers family extends a special thanks to the staff at the Norlite Nursing Center, U.P. Home Health and Hospice, his health care providers Karen Swenor, NP,  Dr. Joseph Steele and his staff, along with the 4th floor staff at UPHS Marquette for their excellent care.

To respect Roger's wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held.
