Ishpeming- Roger D. Hendrickson, age 77 longtime Ishpeming resident, and a resident of Crystal Falls for the past 3 years, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Lake Superior Hospice Unit located at Marquette General Hospital.
Roger was born April 8, 1930 to the late Carl "Ed" and Dagney (Blocken) Hendrickson in Ishpeming. He was a 1948 Ishpeming High School graduate and worked until 1995 for the City of Ishpeming as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Roger enlisted in the United States Navy in 1950 and served during the Korean Conflict. He is an Ishpeming and Negaunee American Legion member. Roger enjoyed sports, at first participating in them and later watching his grandchildren participate. Roger also enjoyed "coffee clutching" with his many friends.
Roger is survived by his son: Roger A. (Tammy) Hendrickson of Crystal Falls, a sister: Sharon (Tom) Connors of Ishpeming, a brother: Jack (Helen) Hendrickson of Vancouver, WA, 2 grandchildren: Kelsi and Riley Hendrickson, and several nieces and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, an infant daughter, a sister: Jean Kangas, and 2 brothers: Marvin Hendrickson and Carl Hendrickson Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 28 at 4:00pm at the Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming with Marcia Franz presiding.
The family of Roger Hendrickson will greet friends and relatives on Sunday at the church from 2:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.
Pallbearers will be Dale Kangas, Jim Racine, Gary Connors, Greg Hendrickson, John Lovato Sr., and Moe Carlson.
