Ishpeming, MI - Roger H. Gaboury, age 85, of 1223 N Third Street, Ishpeming, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, while in the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Roger was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on May 19, 1936, a son of the late Geraldine (Williams) and Ernest D Gaboury. He grew up in Ishpeming and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1954. Roger proudly served in the U.S. Army from Oct 1956 - Sep of 1959. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master's degree from Northern Michigan University. He worked as a teacher for thirty years, 5 of those at Gwinn High School and 25 at Ishpeming High School, teaching Science and Biology, retiring in 1991.  While at Ishpeming High School, he coached J.V. Football for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Ishpeming. Roger loved his family and all the time they were able to spend together. He enjoyed the simple things in life, time spent at camp, along with hunting and fishing.

Roger is survived by a daughter - Cathy (Nick Roberts) Bertucci, of Ishpeming; two sons - Scott (Kristen) Gaboury of Ann Arbor; Joseph (Tamara) Gaboury of Wausaukee, WI; 5 grandchildren - Lauren Gaboury, Adam Gaboury, Jessica Bertucci, Matthew Gaboury and Molly Gaboury, a great grandson - Jayme Bertucci; a brother - Allan (Maria) Gaboury of Sun Prairie, WI along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Anastasia "Ann" (Nault) Gaboury, whom he married August 5, 1961, and a brother Keith Gaboury.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 until 11 am on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday with Rev. Fr. Ryan Ford officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the UP Honors Team at the conclusion of the Mass. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall.
