Ishpeming Twp- Roger Bjorne, age 66 Ishpeming Twp resident passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at his home.

Roger was born April 8, 1944 in Ishpeming to Jacob & Esther (Aho) Bjorne. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1962. Roger served 4 years in the United States Air Force.

Roger worked for the Ishpeming Police Department before working for Cleveland Cliffs where he retired from the Tilden Mine. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed taking rides in the wood, and traveling to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Roger is survived by a brother Jacob (Mary) Bjorne of Huntsville, AL, nephews: David Bjorne, John Bjorne, Jim Nagel, Roger Nagel and William Nagel along with several cousins. Roger was preceded in death by his wife Mary Sue Bjorne in 2005, his parents Jacob and Esther and a sister Carol Nagel.

A memorial service with visitation will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating the services at 11:00am and visitation from 10:30 until time of service.
